Global superstar Hugh Jackman has taken on a pivotal new role as Head of Impact at Humanitix, a social enterprise ticketing platform with a mission to transform the events industry. Announced today, Jackman's appointment signifies a major boost for Humanitix as it aims to amplify its global reach and impact, with a target to grow charitable donations to £50 million worldwide.

Founded in Australia in 2016, Humanitix operates as a not-for-profit organization, dedicating 100% of its profits from booking fees to various charities, primarily focused on education and healthcare initiatives for children. The platform offers a compelling alternative to traditional ticketing services like Ticketmaster and Eventbrite, often providing lower booking fees while channeling revenue towards social good.

Jackman, known for his philanthropic work and co-founding the fair-trade coffee company Laughing Man Coffee, expressed his enthusiasm for Humanitix's unique model. "Humanitix rejects that entirely – and that's what makes it so important. Not just as a ticketing platform, but as a signal of where capitalism needs to go," Jackman stated. "Every dollar of profit goes to the mission, there are no shareholders in the equation."

In his new capacity, Jackman will not serve as a mere figurehead but will be actively involved in scaling the business globally, leveraging his influence and networks to raise broader awareness. Humanitix has already made a significant impact, directing over £11 million (or approximately $14 million USD) to charities to date. The company is experiencing rapid growth, particularly in the US market, where it expects to process $150 million in ticket sales in 2026, marking over 40% year-over-year growth.

Humanitix has expanded its operations to include the United Kingdom, North America, New Zealand, and Canada. The platform also emphasizes accessibility, ensuring its website is compatible with screen readers and encourages event hosts to provide detailed information for attendees with disabilities.

Jackman's involvement is seen as a strategic move to accelerate Humanitix's mission to disrupt the ticketing industry for the better and to shift global perceptions of business and social impact.
